The Active Start Program combines play and structured activities to get children active and involved in physical activity. The program is individualized to allow each child to develop at their own rate. The Active Start Program aims to establish a sound base of fundamental movements and basic general sport skills so your child can move easily into any sport. The Active Start Program supports the development of fundamental movement skills in children aged 6-8 years in a fun and purposeful way. Fundamental movement skills provide a foundation for many physical activities including play, games, dance, outdoor recreation, and sport. Having these skills is an essential part of enjoyable participation and lifelong interest in a active lifestyle.
Our School Programs are based on 3
"Play With Purpose" principles
• Develop Key Fundamental Movement Skills
• Helping Develop Self Confidence
• Develop a healthy active lifestyle
Our Programs takes place during a school's regular scheduled recess. Depending on the participants grade they will attend either the morning class or the afternoon class. Those registered in the Active Start Program will report to the Gym where a SportsCan coach will meet the children. The class will run until the conclusion of the recess break then return to their class.
